Job Description
About the Role
Design and architect scalable backend solutions to support web applications and services used by millions. Collaborate cross-functionally to define technical solutions for complex problems while maintaining our quality standards and delivering on deadlines. This role requires expertise in API development and data systems.
Responsibilities
- Architect scalable and maintainable backend services using Python/Django with AWS
- Design RESTful APIs to power front-end applications and mobile apps
- Implement distributed data processing systems using AWS Cloud
- Collaborate closely with product owners, designers and frontend developers
- Troubleshoot and investigate performance issues to optimize web application speed and accessibility
- Mentor junior developers and establish best coding practices for backend teams
- Manage technical debt and contribute to architectural improvements
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide thought leadership
Requirements
- 10+ years software engineering experience with 5+ years in backend role
- Proficiency in Python and Django framework
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure – EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.
- Strong grasp of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Proficiency with Git version control and Github workflow processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
