About the Role
Summit Valley School District seeks an enthusiastic Science Teacher to inspire students in grades 6-8. The role involves creating STEM-focused lesson plans aligned with state standards and fostering critical thinking skills through hands-on experiments.
Responsibilities
- Develop NGSS-aligned curriculum
- Conduct laboratory safety training
- Monitor student progress via formative assessments
- Collaborate with Special Education staff
- Lead after-school science club
- Implement differentiated instruction strategies
- Maintain classroom equipment inventory
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Secondary Education
- Valid AZ teaching certification
- 2+ years classroom experience preferred
- Familiarity with Google Classroom
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to lift 25 lbs equipment
