About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Public Defender to provide legal representation to indigent clients. This role involves defending clients in criminal cases, conducting legal research, and advocating for justice in the courtroom.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in criminal proceedings
- Conduct legal research and case preparation
- Interview clients and witnesses
- Negotiate plea deals when appropriate
- Advocate for clients’ rights in court
- Maintain accurate case files
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Admission to state bar
- 2+ years of legal experience
- Strong litigation skills
- Commitment to public service
- Excellent communication skills
