About the Role
The City of Portland is hiring a Parks Maintenance Worker to maintain and beautify public parks throughout the city. You will perform landscaping, minor repairs, and general upkeep to ensure safe and welcoming recreational spaces for all residents.
Responsibilities
- Mow lawns, trim shrubs, and maintain greenery.
- Clean and maintain park facilities like benches and picnic areas.
- Assist with minor repairs and installations.
- Remove litter and debris from parks.
- Operate landscaping equipment safely.
- Report safety hazards or vandalism.
- Provide courteous assistance to park visitors.
Requirements
- Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic landscaping or maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of safe equipment operation.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
