About the Role
Provide engaging instruction in a 2nd-grade classroom with 25 students. Develop lesson plans aligned with state standards. Collaborate with colleagues on school-wide initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement daily lesson plans following state curriculum standards
- Conduct daily morning meetings and social-emotional learning activities
- Assess student progress through tests, quizzes and classwork
- Communicate with parents through conferences, emails and class newsletters
- Organize and supervise classroom activities including center rotations and group work
- Maintain orderly and positive classroom environment conducive to learning
- Manage classroom supplies and keep detailed records of student performance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- Valid state teaching certificate for Elementary Education
- 2+ years teaching experience in a classroom setting
- Proficiency with Google Classroom and EdTech tools
- Strong understanding of child development and learning theories
- Ability to create differentiated instruction for diverse learners
- Commitment to building community and student-teacher relationships
