About the Role
SpaceX seeks a CTO to drive development of Starship launch systems, Starlink satellite networks, and Mars colonization technologies. Report directly to Elon Musk as part of executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Oversee 1,000+ engineering team across 5 divisions
- Archictect next-gen propulsion and life support systems
- Lead FAA/NASA compliance for human spaceflight programs
- Optimize rapid iteration development cycles
- Strategic planning for lunar/Mars surface operations
Requirements
- 20+ years leading aerospace engineering organizations
- PhD in Aerospace Engineering or Physics
- Experience with cryogenic propulsion and orbital mechanics
- Security clearance for classified projects
- Proven crisis management in high-risk environments
