Job Description
About the Role
Contribute to inclusive education as a Special Education Aide. You’ll provide critical support to students with special needs, facilitate individualized learning, and collaborate with teachers and therapists.
Responsibilities
- Assist special education teachers with lesson preparation
- Support students in executing IEP goals and objectives
- Modify teaching materials to accommodate diverse needs
- Maintain classroom safety and behavioral interventions
- Document student progress and attend case management meetings
- Help with mobility, feeding, and personal care tasks
- Create individualized daily living skill activities
- Foster a positive, nurturing learning environment
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree in Education or relevant field preferred
- Paraprofessional certification or 2 years of experience
- Strong patience, empathy, and compassion
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors with positive reinforcement
- Physical ability to lift and assist students
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Clear child abuse and criminal background checks
