About the Role
Support students with special needs in a K-5 classroom setting. Work closely with lead teachers to implement individualized education plans and foster an inclusive learning environment. Make a meaningful impact on children’s academic and social development.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities
- Provide one-on-one support to students with learning disabilities
- Implement behavioral intervention strategies
- Monitor student progress and document observations
- Assist with personal care needs as required
- Prepare adaptive learning materials
- Supervise students during recess and lunch
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree in Education or related field preferred
- 1+ year experience working with children with disabilities
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Patience and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to pass background check
