About the Role
Wayne County DHS requires CPS Investigators to assess child safety, conduct home visits, and coordinate services for at-risk families. Critical role in child welfare system.
Responsibilities
- Respond to abuse/neglect reports
- Interview children and families
- Document findings in CAPTA reports
- Testify in family court
- Collaborate with law enforcement
- Develop safety plans
- Maintain case files
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Social Work
- 2+ years child welfare experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Crisis intervention training
- Familiarity with MI child laws
- Clear criminal background
- On-call availability
