About the Role
The City Waste Management Department is hiring Sanitation Workers to maintain clean and safe public spaces. You’ll be responsible for collecting and disposing of waste, operating sanitation equipment, and keeping our city clean. This essential role contributes directly to public health and quality of life for residents.
Responsibilities
- Collect and dispose of residential and commercial waste
- Operate garbage trucks and other sanitation equipment
- Follow designated collection routes and schedules
- Separate recyclable materials when applicable
- Report sanitation issues or hazards
- Assist in cleaning public areas
- Follow safety protocols and procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs)
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Willingness to work early morning shifts
- Pass pre-employment drug test and physical
