About the Role
Mayo Clinic’s Department of Cardiovascular Surgery seeks an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon to perform complex procedures including robotic-assisted CABG and heart/lung transplants. Lead quality improvement initiatives and clinical trials.
Responsibilities
- Perform 300+ annual cardiac surgeries with 24/7 call rotation
- Mentor surgical residents and fellows in training programs
- Collaborate on NIH-funded research in regenerative cardiac therapies
- Implement minimally invasive surgical protocols across 5-hospital system
- Review outcomes data to maintain >98% patient satisfaction scores
Requirements
- MD/DO with board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- 7+ years post-fellowship experience in high-volume center
- 1000+ documented CABG/valve cases with published outcomes
- Expertise in ECMO and LVAD implantation
- MN medical license (or eligible)
