About the Role

Recycling Coordinator needed to develop and implement waste reduction and recycling programs for the community. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainability practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage recycling programs for residential and commercial customers.
  • Provide outreach and education to the community on waste reduction and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with haulers, collection staff, and facility operators to improve recycling practices.
  • Track and report recycling data and performance indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and mandates.
  • Coordinate recycling events and activities to increase public engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of recycling activities and budget management.
  • Assess and recommend improvements to recycling infrastructure and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in waste management or recycling.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking abilities.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and the public.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and attend community events.
