About the Role
Recycling Coordinator needed to develop and implement waste reduction and recycling programs for the community. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainability practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage recycling programs for residential and commercial customers.
- Provide outreach and education to the community on waste reduction and sustainability.
- Collaborate with haulers, collection staff, and facility operators to improve recycling practices.
- Track and report recycling data and performance indicators.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and mandates.
- Coordinate recycling events and activities to increase public engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of recycling activities and budget management.
- Assess and recommend improvements to recycling infrastructure and programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in waste management or recycling.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and public speaking abilities.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and the public.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and attend community events.
