About the Role
Join our county social services department as a Public Service Advocate. You’ll play a vital role in helping individuals and families access critical resources by providing compassionate guidance and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients in navigating social service programs
- Provide information on available community resources
- Facilitate enrollment in public assistance programs
- Conduct intake interviews to assess client needs
- Create case files with accurate documentation
- Coordinate with other service providers for best outcomes
- Maintain current knowledge of local social service networks
- Prepare reports for program effectiveness evaluation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Administration, or related
- Experience with social services in government or non-profit
- Strong interpersonal skills for client relations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software
- Knowledge of HIPAA and other privacy regulations
- Patience and compassion for vulnerable populations
- Ability to handle sensitive situations ethically
- Multilingual skills preferred but not required
