About the Role
Provide classroom support to lead teachers in a diverse elementary school setting. Assist with instructional activities, student supervision, and classroom management. Help create a positive learning environment and support students’ academic growth through individualized attention.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organization
- Supervise students during classroom activities and recess
- Provide one-on-one support to students needing extra assistance
- Help maintain classroom discipline and behavior management systems
- Assist with grading assignments and record keeping
- Prepare learning materials and visual aids
- Accompany students to specials classes and lunch periods
- Communicate with teachers regarding student progress
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree in education preferred
- Experience working with children in an educational setting
- Patience and enthusiasm for working with diverse learners
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to pass background check
- First Aid/CPR certification within 3 months of hire
