About the Role
Seeking a Teaching Assistant to support primary-grade classrooms at Jefferson Elementary. You’ll assist lead teachers by helping create a positive learning environment and providing individualized attention to students. This role is essential for improving educational outcomes through small-group instruction.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teacher with lesson plan implementation
- Provide individualized support for students with learning challenges
- Supervise children during lunch, recess, and transitions
- Prepare instructional materials under teacher guidance
- Maintain classroom organization and equipment
- Accompany classes on field trips and special events
- Tutor small groups in reading and math fundamentals
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree in Education or relevant field preferred
- Experience working with children ages 5-11
- PAT certification or willingness to obtain
- Basic understanding of child development
- Clear background check and fingerprint clearance
- CPR/First Aid certified or willingness to obtain
