About the Role
Lead municipal parks operations and community programming. Oversee facilities maintenance, budget management, staff development, and public engagement. Drive strategic initiatives that enhance green spaces and recreational opportunities for residents.
Responsibilities
- Manage $8M annual department budget
- Supervise 50+ full/part-time employees
- Develop strategic parks master plan
- Oversee maintenance of 400+ park acres
- Coordinate community recreation programs
- Liaise with City Council on policy matters
- Secure grants and manage capital projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Parks Management or related field
- 7+ years public sector leadership experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- Budget management certification (CPFO or equivalent)
- Strategic planning and grant writing expertise
- Public speaking and stakeholder engagement skills
