About the Role
Inspire young minds as a High School English Teacher at Lincoln Academy. You’ll develop engaging lesson plans, teach literature and composition, and foster critical thinking skills. This position offers the opportunity to shape students’ academic growth and love for language arts.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver standards-aligned English lessons
- Teach literature, grammar, and writing skills
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback
- Monitor student progress and communicate with parents
- Participate in department meetings and professional development
- Supervise extracurricular activities as needed
- Maintain classroom discipline and positive learning environment
Requirements
- Valid state teaching certification in English
- Bachelor’s degree in English or related field
- 2+ years of teaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of Common Core standards
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
