About the Role
Operate and maintain water purification systems ensuring safe drinking water for local residents. Monitor treatment processes, perform lab testing, and document system performance according to environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate filtration and chemical treatment systems
- Collect and analyze water samples
- Maintain process equipment and chemical feeders
- Document operations in compliance with EPA regulations
- Respond to water quality emergencies
- Use SCADA systems to monitor plant performance
- Perform maintenance on pumps and valves
Requirements
- State Water Treatment Plant Operator Level II license
- 2+ years experience in water or wastewater treatment
- Knowledge of Clean Water Act regulations
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including holidays
