About the Role
Join the dynamic team at Gear Up Sports as our Store Manager in Training. You’ll learn all areas of retail management from merchandising to sales strategies while contributing to our athletic apparel store success in downtown Portland.
Responsibilities
- Assist in store layout planning and visual merchandising
- Train on inventory management and ordering processes
- Learn financial reporting and budgeting techniques
- Build customer rapport through product knowledge coaching
- Shadow experienced store managers on staff scheduling
- Support marketing campaigns through social media/community events
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or retail management preferred
- 1-2 years retail experience, supervisory preferred
- Strong interpersonal and sales communication skills
- Availability for varying shifts and weekend commitments
- Ability to handle cash and conduct financial transactions
- Fluency in retail loss prevention best practices
