About the Role
Support teachers in creating a positive learning environment for elementary school students by assisting with classroom management, lesson planning, and student engagement. Work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents to promote student success.
Responsibilities
- Assist in classroom preparations, including setting up materials, organizing supplies, and managing student files
- Support lead teacher in implementing instructional plans and adapting to individual student needs
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions in various subjects
- Help maintain a positive, respectful classroom environment by reinforcing safety protocols and disciplinary procedures
- Assist with supervising outdoor activities, such as recess or field trips
- Monitor and communicate student progress to teachers, parents, and administrators
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Education or related field preferred, or minimum of 60 college credits
- Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize requests, and think critically under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and learning management systems
- Knowledge of child development theories and educational practices
