About the Role
Provide direct patient care in our bustling emergency department at City General Hospital. This mid-level position requires clinical expertise to triage patients, administer treatments, and collaborate with physicians. Your role directly impacts patient outcomes during critical moments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and vital sign monitoring
- Administer medications and IV therapies
- Document care in electronic health records
- Collaborate with physicians on treatment plans
- Educate patients and families on discharge care
- Mentor new nurses and nursing students
- Maintain emergency response equipment
Requirements
- Active RN license in Illinois
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- 1-2 years ER experience preferred
- Associate degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Strong critical thinking under pressure
- Comfort with high-acuity patients
- Flexibility for rotating shifts including weekends
