About the Role
Support special education teachers in providing individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs. Assist with classroom management, academic support, and behavioral interventions in a K-8 school setting.
Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plan modifications under teacher supervision
- Provide one-on-one academic support
- Monitor student progress and document behaviors
- Assist with personal care needs
- Prepare classroom materials
- Escort students between classes
- Communicate with parents/guardians
Requirements
- High school diploma (Associate’s degree preferred)
- State paraprofessional certification
- 1+ year experience with special needs students
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
- CPI certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
