About the Role
Greenvale District Schools seeks a dedicated Teacher’s Aide to support our 1st-grade classroom. You’ll assist in creating an inclusive learning environment and providing individualized attention to students with diverse needs. This role is pivotal in maintaining classroom organization and reinforcing educational concepts under the teacher’s guidance.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teacher with instructional material preparation
- Provide one-on-one student support during lessons
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and transitions
- Help maintain classroom cleanliness and organization
- Reinforce learning concepts through guided activities
- Assist with student progress documentation
- Support classroom behavior management strategies
Requirements
- High school diploma (Associate’s in Education preferred)
- Experience working with children aged 5-8
- Patience and strong communication skills
- Ability to follow lesson plans and instructions
- Basic understanding of child development principles
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Background clearance through fingerprinting
