About the Role
Join Windy City Electric’s apprenticeship program to learn commercial electrical systems installation and maintenance. You’ll gain hands-on experience under master electricians while contributing to construction and renovation projects throughout Chicago. This entry-level role kickstarts your skilled trades career with industry certifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist with electrical installations in new constructions
- Perform panel/service upgrades under supervision
- Troubleshoot basic residential electrical issues
- Maintain clean work areas and adhere to safety protocols
- Measure, cut, and bend wiring conduits
- Learn NEC code compliance standards
- Transport tools/materials between job sites
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Apprentice license or enrollment in IEC program
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights
- Basic hand tool familiarity
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
- First Aid/CPR certification required within 90 days
