About the Role
The City is hiring a Parks Maintenance Worker to maintain and beautify our public parks and recreational areas. Responsibilities include grounds maintenance, equipment repair, and ensuring safe, clean facilities for community use. This role is vital in enhancing quality of life for our residents and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, and planting
- Maintain sports fields and playground equipment
- Clean and stock restroom facilities
- Repair park benches, fences, and other structures
- Collect and dispose of trash and debris
- Assist with special event setup and teardown
- Follow all safety protocols and report hazards
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of grounds maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment (mowers, trimmers, etc.)
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in all weather conditions
- Basic carpentry and repair skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Commitment to public service
