About the Role
Inspire young minds as a Science Teacher at Austin ISD. You’ll develop hands-on lesson plans that align with TEKS standards and foster scientific curiosity. This role requires curriculum development expertise and the ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners in an inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach physical and life science to 6th-8th grade students
- Design project-based learning experiences aligned to TEKS
- Implement formative and summative assessments
- Maintain classroom discipline using PBIS framework
- Collaborate in PLCs for curriculum refinement
- Communicate regularly with parents via conferences and digital platforms
- Supervise science fair projects and STEM clubs
Requirements
- Valid Texas teaching credential with science endorsement
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- ESL certification or willingness to obtain
- 3+ years classroom teaching experience preferred
- Proven success with diverse student populations
- Proficiency with Google Classroom platforms
- Passion for inquiry-based science education
