About the Role
Join Pinecrest Elementary in supporting diverse learners in inclusive classroom settings. Assist certified teachers with instructional activities and provide individualized attention to students with special needs. Help implement lesson adaptations and behavior management strategies to foster student success.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organization
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction under teacher direction
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations to instructional team
- Help students with daily living skills and personal care as needed
- Reinforce positive behavior using approved intervention strategies
- Supervise students during transitions and non-instructional periods
- Adapt instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs
Requirements
- High school diploma required; AA degree or equivalent preferred
- Experience working with children with special needs
- Ability to pass background check and fingerprint clearance
- Patience and strong interpersonal communication skills
- Basic understanding of educational support strategies
- First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Physical ability to assist students with mobility needs
