Job Description
About the Role
Special Education Aide needed to support students with special needs in a collaborative and inclusive setting. Assist teachers in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and ensure students’ safety and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Work one-on-one with students to encourage learning and development.
- Assist with instructional activities and classroom management.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment.
- Provide feedback to teachers on student progress.
- Facilitate social and communication skills development.
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and team meetings.
- Assist students with mobility, communication, and personal care needs as required.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a successful educational experience for students.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Relevant experience working with special needs students preferred but not required.
- Ability to handle physically challenging tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, compassion, and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and follow directions.
- Basic knowledge of special education practices and techniques.
- Pass a background check and obtain necessary certifications.
