About the Role
Travis County Human Services seeks a dedicated Caseworker to provide direct support to families accessing public assistance programs. You’ll conduct assessments, develop service plans, and connect clients with vital community resources. This position requires frequent outreach and collaboration with partner agencies. Responsibilities
- Perform client intake interviews and needs assessments
- Develop personalized service plans with measurable goals
- Maintain accurate case documentation within state systems
- Provide crisis intervention and safety planning
- Coordinate with healthcare, educational, and social services
- Monitor client progress and adjust case plans accordingly
- Conduct home/non-office visits to assess environmental needs
- Advocate for clients during benefits/appeals processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related
- 1+ years experience in human services or case management
- Knowledge of TX public assistance programs (SNAP, TANF, Medicaid)
- Cultural competency working with diverse populations
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background/criminal history check
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Crisis management and de-escalation training
