About the Role
Motor City Manufacturing seeks experienced CNC Machinists to join our precision automotive parts production team. This role involves programming and operating CNC mills/lathes to create critical components for auto manufacturers. You’ll perform quality checks and troubleshoot issues to maintain tight tolerances in our fast-paced manufacturing facility. Seven shifts available with weekend options.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines (mills and lathes)
- Interpret technical drawings and G-code programming
- Perform in-process inspections using precision instruments
- Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs
- Perform routine machine maintenance tasks
- Maintain quality standards and production quotas
- Document production data and maintain organized workspace
- Follow all safety protocols including PPE requirements
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years CNC machining experience
- Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Ability to read complex technical drawings and GD&T
- Basic CNC programming skills (Fanuc controls)
- Knowledge of cutting tools and optimal machining parameters
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Troubleshooting skills for mechanical/electrical issues
