About the Role
Drive commercialization of SAE Level 4 autonomous freight vehicles at Voyage Robotics. Oversee multi-sensor fusion development, safety certification processes, and deployment strategies for our autonomous trucking network across Sunbelt states. Lead 60+ engineer teams through critical technology milestones.
Responsibilities
- Own autonomy stack development timeline
- Ensure compliance with NHTSA/FMCSA regulations
- Liaise with OEM partners on vehicle integration
- Secure state operating permits across deployment regions
- Manage $40M+ technology development budget
- Oversee simulation and real-world validation programs
- Implement V-model development lifecycle
Requirements
- MS/PhD in Robotics or Electrical Engineering
- 12+ years autonomous systems leadership
- Experience bringing AVs to commercial operation
- Knowledge of sensor technologies (LiDAR, radar arrays)
- Familiarity with functional safety standards (ISO 26262)
- Proven success managing large engineering budgets
- Portfolio of launched AV programs
