Job Description

About the Role

Operate CNC machining centers and manual mills to produce precision metal components for aerospace and defense industries. Follow complex CAD drawings and blueprints to set up machines, program tool paths, and monitor production quality.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up and operate Haas CNC lathes and mills
  • Interpret G-Code/M-Code instructions and CAD drawings
  • Perform precision metalworking tasks using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, CMMs)
  • Monitor machine operation for tooling wear, vibration, and material defects
  • Maintain clean, organized work area adhering to 5S principles
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on CNC equipment
  • Assist in tool design improvements and workholding optimization
  • Collaborate with other machinists and quality inspectors for process refinement
  • Document machine setup procedures and tooling adjustments

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Apprenticeship or vocational certification in CNC machining
  • 1-2 years experience operating CNC lathes and mills
  • Proficiency in G-Code programming and CAD/CAM software (Mastercam preferred)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Adhere to safety protocols and IS0 9001 quality systems
  • Availability for 3rd shift (graveyard shift) as needed
