About the Role
Support lead teachers in facilitating engaging classroom activities for elementary students. Assist with lesson preparation, student supervision, and individualized learning plans. This role is crucial for maintaining an inclusive academic environment and supporting diverse learners.
Responsibilities
- Assist with classroom management and student supervision
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students needing extra support
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
- Assist during lunch, recess, and dismissal procedures
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development
- Support implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Requirements
- High school diploma required; Associate degree in Education preferred
- 1+ year experience working with children ages 5-12
- Ability to pass background check and fingerprint clearance
- Basic technology skills (Google Workspace, educational apps)
- Strong communication and patience working with diverse learners
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
