About the Role
Promote your communication skills as a Public Relations Specialist for the City of Tampa’s Office of External Affairs. This role focuses on crafting messaging, overseeing community outreach, and maintaining a positive public image.
Responsibilities
- Develop press releases and media advisories
- Coordinate community and stakeholder events
- Respond to public inquiries and assist with crisis communication
- Monitor media coverage and manage social media channels
- Collaborate with city officials to ensure accurate information dissemination
- Assist in managing public engagement surveys and focus groups
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or related field
- 2+ years PR experience in public sector preferred
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Proficiency with common PR/social media tools
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
- Experience in community engagement and reporting
