About the Role
Join US Gear Manufacturing as a CNC Machine Operator in our Chicago facility. Operate advanced CNC milling and turning machines to produce high-precision gear components for the automotive industry. Collaborate with our engineering team to maintain strict quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Program and operate CNC machines following blueprint specifications
- Perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers and CMM
- Inspect finished parts against tolerance requirements
- Set up and adjust tools/dies to ensure consistent part quality
- Report machine malfunctions to maintenance team for repairs
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Follow safety protocols and wear protective equipment
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience operating CNC mills/lathes
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Familiar with Haas, Mazak or similar CNC controllers
- Strong problem-solving skills for machine adjustments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
