About the Role
Join the Urban Development Department of Metro City as a driven City Planner. You’ll develop master plans, zoning maps, and public spaces that shape our community’s growth and sustainability goals. Your strategic vision empowers us to create livable urban environments benefiting generations to come.
Responsibilities
- Analyze demographic data and spatial planning techniques
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and city officials
- Prepare zoning ordinances, land-use proposals, and planning documents
- Conduct public outreach and engagement during planning processes
- Evaluate environmental impact assessments and sustainability standards
- Create 3D modeling visualizations of planned developments
- Participate in public hearings and community forums
- Monitor project milestones against budget and timelines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or related field
- Minimum 3 years professional planning experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD, GIS, and planning software
- Detailed understanding of IAP2 levels of public participation
- Strong analytical skills for complex data interpretation
- Familiarity with APA ethical standards and zoning practices
- Excellent project management skills and team coordination
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Master’s degree in Urban Planning preferred
