About the Role
Support student development at Chicago Public Schools as a Teacher Assistant. Work alongside certified teachers to implement lesson plans and provide individualized support. Create an inclusive environment that fosters academic growth and social development for K-5 students.
Responsibilities
- Reinforce lesson concepts through small group instruction
- Supervise students during lunch, recess and transition periods
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays
- Assist with grading assignments and maintaining records
- Implement behavior management strategies consistently
- Accompany classes on field trips and special events
- Provide accommodations for students with special needs
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in education or related field
- Illinois paraprofessional license within 90 days
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Ability to pass state background clearance
- Basic technology proficiency for educational tools
- Patience and creativity in engaging young learners
